hibernation is over
after a much needed break from life in general, us teachers head back to the real world tomorrow. i cannot express how much fun i have had in this snow. just walking thru the woods seemed like a new experience. i have never traveled farther North than the mason dixon line, so to frolic in snow was insane!! i was one of the lucky OCD fools that packed a big bag of teachery things to do in case we had a blizzard, so i've gotten to stay on top of things while also enjoying hanging out with family. i cannot wait to hear the stories tomorrow-there is no telling what these kids have done or who they have hung out with. as sappy as this may sound, it was nice to HAVE to stay in, walk slow, talk to neighbors-stuff i take for granted every day. i do hope one day to be able to drive a dogsled -just once & not for long-but i never realized how some dogs love snow-like go crazy in it! and for all the teachers/parents that complained-BOO on them! who cares if they tack some days onto the end? my room is having dance-offs, sing-offs, relay races, and putting together massive floor puzzles! now, the talk of taking some spring break days may make me take some extra vitamins, but hopefully it won't come to that!

shhhh...it's a library
so, last week i pathetically gave an entire day to my profession-i spent almost 6 hrs @ our local library preparing lesson plans (i could do this @ home but it's so much easier to do when they have children's books). anyway, the day started out lovely as i sat my big tail in the tiny children's section, but by the end of my stay, i left because of noise. noise!! at the library!!! the sad thing is...i was safe in the kid's area-it was not until i had to venture out into the adult area to plug my laptop in... did i find problems. a man stared @ me while continuously clearing his throat-continuously. then a lady with a giant bandaid on her ear was talking & giggling to a person whom i did not see in this dimension. so, i moved to a secluded table under the stairs where i was alone for 5 minutes, when a lady & her daughter decided to come sit down. the lady went to go find a book, while her daughter read aloud. READ OUT LOUD...while i'm typing!!! before i could injure anyone, i thanked God for letting me get done what i got done, then packed up my little teacher bags & jetted out. whatever happened to respect & quiet environments @ the library!! back in the day, i can remember trying not to lose consciousness because i was breathing so shallow for fear the security guard would kick me out or revoke my library card. i watched way too much reading rainbow for that to happen! i will return to the library...one day....but i'll be packing headphones for sure!!
